Bill Rooney


Bill Rooney was born in New York and studied architecture at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and Rome, Italy.
Bill is founder and President of Bill Rooney Studio, Inc., specializing in hospitality and residential interior design.

He has just completed the Peninsula Chicago guestroom renovation, Peninsula New York Gotham lounge, and two specialty suites at the property.  He is currently designing the lobby for The Peninsula New York,  a new build Four Seasons Hotel in Boston, a Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami, The Cadillac hotel renovation in Miami Beach, Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove, and has also recently completed the interior design of the Liberty Hotel Boston,  St. Gregory Hotel lobby in Washington D.C., the 2014 Gold Key Award winning Residence Inn New York/Central Park, and the Mason & Rook Hotel Washington, DC (2016 Gold Key Finalist Award for Best Hotel Upscale, and Best Guestroom Upscale). 
Always inquisitive and with a strong appreciation for collaboration, creativity, and service, Bill builds upon his 29 years of design experience with the philosophy that each project should be one-of-a-kind, distilling into each the soul, spirit, and investment of the individuals or organizations occupying each space. 

Bill is also licensed as an architect in New York State, and has held that license for 25 years.  He also holds a license to practice architecture in the state of Florida.
