Bill Rooney was born in New York and studied architecture at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and Rome, Italy.

Bill Rooney in this venture has been commissioned by G. Holdings of New York to be the Interior Designer for a new build Marriott in New York City which is estimated to be one of the tallest single purpose Marriott hotels in New York and is also continuing his relationship with the Peninsula New York designing suites and various public areas, as well as the Peninsula Chicago.

Prior to Bill Rooney Studio, Bill opened the New York Office for Gettys as Vice President and Principal. He was responsible for development of new business, the design oversight of the Jumeraih Beach Hotel renovation in Dubai, UAE and the continuation of his relationship of 15 years with The Peninsula New York, with the renovation of the 3rd floor conference level.  Before Gettys, he was Principal at Alexandra Champalimaud for a decade where he collaborated with Alexandra on the design of award winning domestic and international projects such as the Peninsula New York ESPA, The Berkley, London,  Liberty, Charles, and Colonnade hotels in Boston, in addition to many others, which included Fairmont, Hilton, Marriott hotels, Forest City Ratner development projects ,and various residential commissions.  Prior to this Bill was a Senior Associate with the firm of Brennan Beer Gorman Monk, working in both the New York and Hong Kong offices he successfully delivered luxury projects such as select renovations for the Peninsula New York and Hong Kong, The Plaza Hotel, New York,  and the St. Regis, New York.

Always inquisitive and with a strong appreciation for collaboration and service, Bill builds upon his 24 years of design experience with the philosophy that each project should be one-of-a-kind, distilling into each the soul, spirit, and investment of the individuals or organizations occupying each space. Bill is also licensed as an architect in New York State, and has held that license for 21 years.
